May 12 marks International Nurses Day. The total number of registered nurses in China had exceeded 5.2 million at the end of last year, with roughly 3.7 registered nurses for per 1,000 people,according to the National Health Commission (NHC).

1912年，國際護(hù)士理事會決定將弗洛倫斯·南丁格爾的生日——5月12日設(shè)立為國際護(hù)士節(jié)，以此紀(jì)念這位近代護(hù)理學(xué)科的創(chuàng)始人對護(hù)理事業(yè)發(fā)展所作出的卓越貢獻(xiàn)。

今年是第112個國際護(hù)士節(jié)，今年我國護(hù)士節(jié)的主題是“發(fā)展護(hù)士隊伍 改善護(hù)理服務(wù)”。黨的十八大以來，我國護(hù)理事業(yè)快速發(fā)展，護(hù)士隊伍持續(xù)壯大。國家衛(wèi)健委5月11日在新聞發(fā)布會上介紹，近十年來全國護(hù)士隊伍總量以平均8%的速度遞增，每年約有30萬名左右的新護(hù)士入職。2022年年底，全國注冊護(hù)士總量超過520萬人，全國醫(yī)護(hù)比為1:1.18。護(hù)士隊伍的學(xué)歷素質(zhì)和專業(yè)服務(wù)能力都得到了不斷提升。

國家衛(wèi)健委表示，下一步，我國將持續(xù)采取有力措施，進(jìn)一步加強護(hù)士隊伍建設(shè)。主要有以下幾方面：一是持續(xù)增加護(hù)士數(shù)量。到2025年，全國護(hù)士隊伍總量力爭達(dá)到550萬，每千人口注冊護(hù)士數(shù)達(dá)到3.8人，基層護(hù)士數(shù)量達(dá)到120萬。二是保障護(hù)士合法權(quán)益。深入推動落實《中華人民共和國基本醫(yī)療衛(wèi)生與健康促進(jìn)法》《護(hù)士條例》等法律法規(guī)。三是加強人才培養(yǎng)培訓(xùn)。到2025年，上述緊缺護(hù)理專業(yè)護(hù)士參加培訓(xùn)比例不低于90%。四是實施醫(yī)院護(hù)士崗位管理。推動醫(yī)院科學(xué)設(shè)置護(hù)理崗位，實施基于護(hù)理崗位的護(hù)士人力配置、績效考核、薪酬待遇、職稱晉升、獎勵評優(yōu)等。

在中國抗擊新冠肺炎疫情最緊要的時刻，來自中國全國各地馳援湖北的4萬多名醫(yī)護(hù)人員中，三分之二是女性。有一位來自廣東省的小護(hù)士還不滿20歲。記者問她，你還是一個孩子，還需要別人幫助。她回答說，穿上防護(hù)服，我就不是孩子了。這段對話感動了整個中國！正是成千上萬這樣的中國女性，白衣執(zhí)甲，逆行而上，以勇氣和辛勞詮釋了醫(yī)者仁心，用擔(dān)當(dāng)和奉獻(xiàn)換來了山河無恙。

In China, at the height of the battle against COVID-19, more than 40,000 health workers from across the country rushed to Hubei province, which was the hardest hit by the virus, and two-thirds of them were women. Among them was a nurse from Guangdong province who had not yet reached the age of 20. Answering a reporter's question of whether she was too young to help others, she said, "The moment I put on the protective suit, I am not a kid anymore." Those words moved the whole nation. In fact, many women medical workers in China, like this girl, and in their tens of thousands, have taken on the virus bravely by putting themselves in harm's way. Their courage and hard work have shown the very best of the medical profession. Their devotion and sacrifice have kept the nation intact through difficult times.
