> France sets new energy ban to cut waste

The French government is set to order all air-conditioned shops to keep their doors closed and switch off lights overnight, in a bid to cut energy waste.
為了減少能源浪費，法國下令所有裝有空調(diào)的商店在開空調(diào)期間關(guān)緊門窗，并要求商店在夜間熄滅照明標(biāo)志。

Leaving doors open while the air conditioning is running can lead to 20 percent more energy consumption, said Agnes Pannier-Runacher, energy transition minister of France.
法國能源轉(zhuǎn)型部長阿格尼斯?潘尼爾?魯納徹表示，商店在開空調(diào)期間大開門窗可能會導(dǎo)致能源消耗增加20%。

Businesses that break the ban, due to go into effect in the next few days, will face a fine of up to €750.

Some cities, like Lyon and Paris, have already had similar municipal rules in place since the middle of July, but now the government wants to expand the initiative to the whole country.

China has made solid progress in building a national road network to improve inter-area transport layout and increase traffic capacity, with its expressways linking about 95 percent of the population, official data showed. At present, the expressway network covers 98.8 percent of cities with an urban population of over 200,000 and prefecture-level administrative centers, while linking around 88 percent of county-level regions, said Wang Tai, from the Ministry of Transport, at a press conference Monday.

National highways also basically cover administrative areas at and above county level and border ports open all year, Wang said.

As of the end of last year, China had built 117,000 kilometers of national expressways and seen 257,700 kilometers of national highways open to traffic.
截至2021年底，中國國家高速公路已建成11.7萬公里，普通國道通車?yán)锍?5.77萬公里。

The country aims to build national roads with a total length of about 461,000 kilometers by 2035, according to a circular released earlier this year.
今年早些時候印發(fā)的《國家公路網(wǎng)規(guī)劃》提出，到2035年，我國國家公路網(wǎng)總規(guī)模約46.1萬公里。

China will also step up green road construction by enhancing the effective use of resources, protecting ecological environment along the roads and effectively reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

> Over 14m children in US infected with COVID-19

Over 14 million children in the United States have tested positive for COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic, according to the latest report by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Children's Hospital Association.
據(jù)美國兒科學(xué)會和兒童醫(yī)院協(xié)會25日發(fā)布的最新報告，自新冠疫情暴發(fā)以來，美國已累計有超1400萬名兒童確診感染新冠病毒。

Some 92,000 child COVID-19 cases were reported for the week ending July 21, the second consecutive weekly increase of reported cases, according to the report.

More than 311,000 child COVID-19 cases have been added in the past four weeks in the US, and approximately 6.1 million reported cases have been added in 2022.

> Oral pill for COVID-19 approved by regulator

China's top drug regulator said Monday that it has granted conditional approval for a homegrown oral pill to be used to treat COVID-19, adding to the growing medical arsenal against the novel coronavirus.
7月25日，國家藥監(jiān)局附條件批準(zhǔn)了一種國產(chǎn)新冠肺炎治療口服藥，用于治療普通型新冠肺炎成年患者。

Azvudine, developed by Genuine Biotech Co based in Henan province, was first conditionally approved on July 20 last year, to treat HIV-1 infected adult patients with high viral loads, according to the National Medical Products Administration.
國家藥監(jiān)局表示，2021年7月20日，由河南真實生物科技有限公司開發(fā)的阿茲夫定片首次附條件獲批用于治療高病毒載量的成年HIV-1感染患者。

The third and late-stage clinical trials show that the oral medication is safe, can improve clinical conditions of patients, and inhibit the virus within about five days, said the company.
