Well, it’s probably because I’ve started gardening – I’ve planted some flowers and I’ve started growing my own vegetables.
Feifei
你在花園種了花，還種了菜，真厲害！It sounds like you’ve been bitten by the bug!
Neil
Yes, bugs in the garden – that’s what’s causing me to itch. Ah!
Feifei
你身上癢癢，有可能是被花園里的小蟲(chóng)子咬了，不過(guò)我說(shuō)的 “bitten by the bug” 可不是這個(gè)意思。在英語(yǔ)里，我們可以用 “bitten by the bug” 來(lái)描述某人 “對(duì)做某事非常感興趣，著了迷”。這里，用 “被蟲(chóng)子咬了” 來(lái)比喻一個(gè)人 “被某件事情給迷上了，從而熱愛(ài)做此事”。But in your case, Neil, it looks like you’ve been bitten by both types of bugs!
