The number of kindergartens in China reached 295,000 in 2021, up nearly 77 percent from a decade ago, figures from the Ministry of Education showed Tuesday.
教育部4月26日發(fā)布的數(shù)據(jù)顯示，2021年，全國幼兒園達到29.5萬所，較2011年增長近77%。

Of all the new kindergartens established in the period, around 60 percent are located in rural areas.
全國新增幼兒園60%左右分布在農(nóng)村。

By 2021, there were 245,000 government-funded and privately-run non-profit kindergartens, representing 83 percent of all kindergartens in the country.
2021年全國普惠性幼兒園達到24.5萬所，占幼兒園總量的83%。

The figures also showed that preschool enrollment rose, from 62.3 percent in 2011 to about 88 percent in 2021.
全國學前三年毛入園率由2011年的62.3%提高到2021年的約88%。

>China concludes 38th Antarctic expedition
中國第38次南極科學考察圓滿收官

China's research icebreaker Xuelong, or Snow Dragon, returned to Shanghai on Tuesday, marking the end of the country's 38th Antarctic expedition. Two icebreakers participated in the 174-day expedition, with the Xuelong 2 arriving in Shanghai six days ago. This is the second time that China has sent two icebreakers to the Antarctic since the 36th polar expedition.
4月26日，“雪龍”號極地科學考察船遠航歸來抵達上海，這標志著歷時174天的中國第38次南極科學考察圓滿收官。中國第38次南極科學考察由“雪龍”號和“雪龍2”號共同執(zhí)行考察任務。這是中國自第36次南極科學考察之后，第二次派遣兩艘破冰船在同一個“考察季”奔赴南極。其中，“雪龍2”號已于4月20日返回上海。

The scientific venture involved a range of tasks, including the replenishment of materials and staff rotation at China's Zhongshan Station and Great Wall Station in the region, as well as marine observations and oceanic ecosystem investigations.
中國第38次南極科學考察順利完成南極長城站、中山站物資補給和人員輪換任務，開展了站基多學科和近岸海洋業(yè)務化觀測，對南大洋生態(tài)系統(tǒng)進行了調(diào)查，取得了多項科研成果。

>China's highway network reaches 5.28m km
我國公路總里程已達528萬公里

The total length of China's highway network has reached 5.28 million km, an official said on Tuesday. Zhou Rongfeng, an official with the Ministry of Transport, underscored the importance of strengthening highway maintenance and management, as the highway is among the most widely used means of transportation, with the most extensive coverage and the highest number of passengers. China has set up a national highway network that consists of expressways, trunk roads, and rural roads.
交通運輸部公路局副局長周榮峰在4月26日舉行的新聞發(fā)布會上宣布，目前我國公路總里程已達528萬公里，形成了以高速公路為骨架、普通干線為脈絡(luò)、農(nóng)村公路為基礎(chǔ)的全國公路網(wǎng)。周榮峰表示，公路交通是覆蓋范圍最廣、服務人口最多、使用最廣泛的交通運輸方式，維護好這些規(guī)模龐大的公路資產(chǎn)，加強公路養(yǎng)護管理工作意義重大。

A total of 1.29 trillion yuan has been channeled into highway maintenance and addressing highway safety hazards in recent years, according to the ministry.
近年來全國累計投入1.29萬億元資金用于公路養(yǎng)護及安全隱患治理。

Twitter announced on Monday it has accepted Tesla CEO Elon Musk's offer to acquire the company at $54.20 a share, valuing the social media platform at $44 billion.

Twitter stock was up nearly 6% following the announcement of the deal, hovering around $51.84, just shy of the offer price.

The deal is pending approval from shareholders and regulators.
該交易正在等待股東和監(jiān)管機構(gòu)的批準。

Musk is both a high-profile Twitter user and a controversial one. He has more than 83 million followers on the platform, which he has used over the years for sharing memes, discussing his companies, insulting politicians, and spreading misleading claims about Covid-19.
