頂流冰墩墩、雪容融的熱度還沒過去，就又有一個(gè)吉祥物登上了熱搜，不過是因?yàn)樾蜗筮^于“奇特”。

3月22日，2025年日本世界博覽會(huì)協(xié)會(huì)舉行記者招待會(huì)，確認(rèn)了吉祥物最終形象。該吉祥物的形象一經(jīng)發(fā)布，不少日本網(wǎng)友直呼“心態(tài)崩了”。

今年3月，該協(xié)會(huì)公布了2025年大阪世博會(huì)官方吉祥物的三個(gè)最終候選作品，并開始公開征求意見。

It’s easy to assume that this would be a difficult decision between a trio of instantly adorable, disarmingly cute characters, right?

Well……all three would-be goodwill ambassadors for Expo 2025 are pretty disturbing. OK, Candidate A looks like it could have a sort of quirky charm, but Candidates B and C, with their irregularly shaped rings of eyes, definitely show stronger concentrations of creepiness than cuteness.
但是，這三個(gè)候選設(shè)計(jì)都相當(dāng)奇特。除了作品A似乎還有一些奇怪的魅力，作品B和作品C形狀不規(guī)則的眼睛看起來肯定驚悚大于可愛。

And yet, after taking the past few weeks to sift through public reactions to the three candidates, Expo 2025’s organizers have made their decision, and it won’t be Candidate A representing the event, nor Candidate B, but Candidate C.
然而，在過去幾周通過對(duì)三個(gè)候選設(shè)計(jì)的輿情分析，組委會(huì)已做出決定，最終脫穎而出的并不是設(shè)計(jì)A和設(shè)計(jì)B，而是設(shè)計(jì)C。

“We have decided on the character design,” tweets the Expo 2025 official Twitter account. “We will raise it as a character that people all over the world will love and feel a sense of attachment to,” the statement adds.
2025年世博會(huì)官方推特賬號(hào)寫道：“我們已經(jīng)確定了吉祥物設(shè)計(jì)。”組委會(huì)表示，“將努力使它成為廣受世界各國(guó)喜愛的形象”。

這一形象源自世博會(huì)的主題“生命的光輝”，同時(shí)也表現(xiàn)了大阪“水都”的形象，根據(jù)使用用途的不同，設(shè)計(jì)會(huì)改變形態(tài)。角色名稱未定，今后將公開征集。

該吉祥物形象甫一出爐，日本網(wǎng)民就“炸”了。有推特網(wǎng)友評(píng)價(jià)道：

“When children see this character walking around, they’re totally going to start crying and screaming.”
“當(dāng)孩子們看到這個(gè)東西四處走動(dòng)時(shí)，可能會(huì)嚇得大哭大叫。”

“So they’re prepared not to sell any merch, right?”
“所以他們是不打算賣吉祥物周邊了，是嗎？”

“No way I’d buy a plushie, or anything else with that character on it.”

“It’s like they took [Sesame Street’s] Elmo, melted his body, [and put it on Cookie Monster].”
