個人信息保護(hù)法正式實施
China's law on personal information protection went into effect on Nov 1. The law, adopted at the 30th session of the 13th National People's Congress Standing Committee in August, has detailed provisions to strengthen the protection of personal information, especially online platform users.
十三屆全國人大常委會第三十次會議于2021年8月表決通過《中華人民共和國個人信息保護(hù)法》,自2021年11月1日起施行。該法對加強個人信息保護(hù),特別是網(wǎng)絡(luò)平臺用戶個人信息保護(hù)作出詳細(xì)規(guī)定。
Activities such as collection, application, processing and trading of personal information will be strictly monitored, and any infringements will be punished.
按照法律規(guī)定,個人信息的收集、應(yīng)用、處理和交易活動將受到嚴(yán)格監(jiān)管,相關(guān)侵權(quán)行為將予以懲處。
When gathering data for the purpose of business decisions, data collectors are forbidden from engaging in discriminatory practices that harm the interests of consumers, such as differentiating prices through user profiling.
在利用個人信息大數(shù)據(jù)分析進(jìn)行商業(yè)決策時,禁止個人信息處理者采取損害消費者利益的歧視性做法,不得對個人在交易價格等交易條件上實行不合理的差別待遇。

The 4th World Laureates Forum kicked off Monday in Shanghai, gathering more than 130 decorated scientists, including 68 Nobel Prize winners, for the three-day forum.
第四屆世界頂尖科學(xué)家論壇11月1日在上海開幕,包括68位諾貝爾獎得主在內(nèi)的130多位世界頂尖科學(xué)獎項獲得者等代表參會。
With a focus on "Open science," this year's forum will host nearly 100 conferences and activities in 14 sections, covering a number of basic disciplines such as chemistry, physics, life sciences and mathematics.

The national railway regulator recently released a draft guideline to set new standards for its child discount ticket policy by age instead of height.
國家鐵路局近日發(fā)布《鐵路旅客運輸規(guī)程(征求意見稿)》,鐵路客票兒童票購票標(biāo)準(zhǔn)擬以年齡劃分。
The draft, released by the National Railway Administration, said all children under 6 can ride trains free of charge.
根據(jù)意見稿,購買實名制車票時,6歲以下兒童可免費乘車;
Children between 6 and 14 who purchase tickets in a real-name-based ticket system are eligible for discount tickets, and those above 14 are required to pay full price.
年滿6周歲且未滿14周歲的兒童可以購買兒童優(yōu)惠票;年滿14周歲的兒童,應(yīng)購買全價票。
The draft will solicit opinions from the public until Nov 27.
意見反饋截止時間為11月27日。
Currently, China's railway system only offers children discounted tickets in accordance with their height, a regulation that has been criticized for being too rigid and outdated.

The global COVID-19 death toll reached the 5 million milestone on Monday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
據(jù)美國約翰斯?霍普金斯大學(xué)發(fā)布的新冠疫情最新統(tǒng)計數(shù)據(jù),截至美國東部時間11月1日,全球累計新冠死亡病例超過500萬例。
The United States remains the worst-hit country with about 46 million cases and about 746,000 deaths, accounting for more than 18 percent of the global caseload and nearly 15 percent of the global death toll.
