>Plan to boost employment unveiled
'十四五'就業(yè)促進(jìn)規(guī)劃印發(fā)

China's State Council has released a plan to boost employment during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). To achieve more employment and better quality jobs, efforts should implement the employment-first policy, improve the policy system, strengthen training services, and promote prosperity for all, the plan says.
國務(wù)院日前印發(fā)《"十四五"就業(yè)促進(jìn)規(guī)劃》?！兑?guī)劃》指出，要以實現(xiàn)更加充分更高質(zhì)量就業(yè)為主要目標(biāo)，深入實施就業(yè)優(yōu)先戰(zhàn)略，完善政策體系、強(qiáng)化培訓(xùn)服務(wù)、推動全體人民共同富裕邁出堅實步伐。

By 2025, the country's employment situation will be generally stable, and the quality of employment would have steadily improved. Structural problems also would be effectively addressed by then, business startups would create more jobs, and the ability to cope with risks would be significantly enhanced, the plan noted.
到2025年，實現(xiàn)就業(yè)形勢總體平穩(wěn)、就業(yè)質(zhì)量穩(wěn)步提升、結(jié)構(gòu)性就業(yè)矛盾有效緩解、創(chuàng)業(yè)帶動就業(yè)動能持續(xù)釋放、風(fēng)險應(yīng)對能力顯著增強(qiáng)；

By 2025, China aims to add over 55 million new urban jobs and conduct skills training for employees engaging in new forms and models of businesses.
城鎮(zhèn)新增就業(yè)5500萬人以上、廣泛開展新業(yè)態(tài)新商業(yè)模式從業(yè)人員技能培訓(xùn)。

It also aims to improve the public employment service system, increase people's income, and improve their rights and interests protection.
《規(guī)劃》還提出，要健全公共就業(yè)服務(wù)體系、提升勞動者收入和權(quán)益保障水平。

Companies should shoulder their social responsibilities of being maternity-friendly, the plan noted.
將生育友好作為用人單位承擔(dān)社會責(zé)任的重要方面。

A total of 4,357 enterprises have registered to hold virtual exhibitions at the upcoming China International Fair for Trade in Services as of Sunday noon, with no offline events planned, the organizers said. The number marks a 40 percent increase over last year's event, the organizers told a press conference in Beijing on Sunday. The fair's digital platform will allow the exhibitors to showcase products, hold online meetings and ink deals.

Former International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge has passed away at the age of 79, the IOC announced on Sunday.
國際奧委會8月29日宣布，國際奧林匹克委員會前主席雅克?羅格去世，享年79歲。

Rogge was the eighth president of the IOC, from 2001 to 2013, after which he became honorary president.
羅格于2001年到2013年任國際奧委會第八任主席，后擔(dān)任名譽(yù)主席。

Rogge was an orthopedic surgeon with a degree in sports medicine.
他曾是一名矯形外科醫(yī)生，擁有運(yùn)動醫(yī)學(xué)學(xué)位。

A life-long sports fan and an accomplished athlete, Rogge was a Belgian rugby champion and represented his country on the national team.

He also competed in sailing at three editions of the Olympic Games, in 1968, 1972 and 1976.

>US carries out airstrike in Kabul

US Central Command said on Sunday that US military forces carried out an airstrike in Kabul against a suspected ISIS-K vehicle, which could pose an imminent threat to the airport. The airstrike eliminated "an imminent ISIS-K threat to Hamad Karzai International airport," US Central Command Spokesman Bill Urban said in a statement, referring to a local affiliate of the Islamic State in Afghanistan.
