China added 8.22 million new urban jobs from January through July, roughly 74.7 percent of the nation's annual target, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.
國(guó)家統(tǒng)計(jì)局8月16日發(fā)布數(shù)據(jù)稱(chēng)，1-7月份，全國(guó)城鎮(zhèn)新增就業(yè)822萬(wàn)人，完成全年目標(biāo)的74.7%。

The surveyed unemployment rate was 5.1 percent in July, up 0.1 percentage point from a month earlier.
7月份，全國(guó)城鎮(zhèn)調(diào)查失業(yè)率為5.1%，比6月份上升0.1個(gè)百分點(diǎn)。

The rate was 16.2 percent and 4.2 percent for the 16-24 and 25-59 age groups, respectively, the bureau said.
16-24歲人口、25-59歲人口調(diào)查失業(yè)率分別為16.2%、4.2%。

Further, weekly working hours for employees of enterprises was 47.7 hours, from 47.6 in June, it added.
全國(guó)企業(yè)就業(yè)人員周平均工作時(shí)間為47.7小時(shí)，比6月份增加0.1小時(shí)。

>Fuxing bullet train tests new line
復(fù)興號(hào)試跑最東端高寒高鐵

A Fuxing bullet train left Mudanjiang Railway Station in Heilongjiang province early on Sunday morning for a full-line test on the high-speed railway linking Mudanjiang and Jiamusi in the province.

It was the first time a Fuxing bullet train has run on China's easternmost high-speed line, which is in an extremely cold region.

Since June 10, different types of bullet trains have been put into use in test runs to ensure the line can operate safely.

>China, France to recognize driving licenses

China and France have signed an agreement allowing mutual recognition and exchanges of the two countries' driving licenses, the Ministry of Public Security said on Monday. The agreement was signed to facilitate people's travel by driving in the two countries, and further encourage bilateral trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, the MPS said.
公安部8月16日表示，為便利中法兩國(guó)人員在對(duì)方國(guó)家駕車(chē)出行，進(jìn)一步促進(jìn)兩國(guó)經(jīng)貿(mào)合作和人員往來(lái)，中法兩國(guó)政府已簽署協(xié)議，實(shí)現(xiàn)雙方國(guó)家核發(fā)的駕駛證可免試互認(rèn)換領(lǐng)。

Under the deal, which comes into effect on Tuesday, China and France will allow holders of valid driving licenses issued by either authority to drive directly or obtain driving permits without an additional test.
該協(xié)議于8月17日正式生效。根據(jù)協(xié)議，一方準(zhǔn)許持有對(duì)方國(guó)家駕駛證的人員在其境內(nèi)直接駕車(chē)或者免試換領(lǐng)駕駛證。

To be specific, people staying in the other country for less than a year will have their driving licenses recognized in the destination country, while those staying for more than a year can exchange their original licenses for local ones without separate tests.
對(duì)于臨時(shí)進(jìn)入對(duì)方境內(nèi)不超過(guò)一年的，雙方駕駛證實(shí)現(xiàn)互認(rèn)。對(duì)于在對(duì)方國(guó)家居留超過(guò)一年的，雙方駕駛證實(shí)現(xiàn)免試互換。

Reciprocal treatment will be applied to students who study in each other's countries.

US President Joe Biden on Monday stood by his decision to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan while acknowledging Kabul's collapse to the Taliban came much sooner than Washington had anticipated. "If anything, the developments of the past week reinforced that ending US military involvement in Afghanistan, now, was the right decision," said Biden, who returned to the White House from Camp David ahead of schedule.
