China is sending its largest team to an overseas Olympic Games as it aims to boost its medal haul in Tokyo in sports it does not traditionally do well in. The Chinese Olympic Committee announced on Wednesday it will send 431 athletes, 133 men and 298 women, to the Tokyo 2020 Games.
中國奧委會7月14日宣布，東京奧運(yùn)會中國體育代表團(tuán)運(yùn)動員人數(shù)共431人，包括女運(yùn)動員298人、男運(yùn)動員133人。這是中國體育代表團(tuán)境外參賽規(guī)模最大的一屆奧運(yùn)會，希望能在非傳統(tǒng)優(yōu)勢項(xiàng)目上取得獎牌數(shù)量上的突破。

The event starts on July 23 after a one-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Very nearly all of the delegation has been vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to the General Administration of Sport of China.

Chinese athletes have qualified in 225 events across 30 sports at the Games, which feature 339 medal events over 17 days of competition.

Foreign direct investment into the Chinese mainland, in actual use, surged 28.7 percent year on year to 607.84 billion yuan, in the first half of this year, the Ministry of Commerce said Wednesday. The value increased 27.1 percent from the same period in 2019.
中國商務(wù)部7月14日公布的最新數(shù)據(jù)顯示，今年上半年中國實(shí)際使用外資6078.4億元人民幣，同比增長28.7%，較2019年同期增長27.1%。

Foreign investment in the service industry came in at 482.77 billion yuan during the period, up 33.4 percent year on year, with foreign investment in the high-tech services sector rising 42.7 percent%.

Investment from the countries along the Belt and Road expanded 49.6 percent, and investment from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the European Union rose 50.7 percent and 10.3 percent, respectively, in H1.

>Palace Museum promotes 'zero waste' tours

China's Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, has started promoting "zero waste" tours among tour guides and the public.
故宮博物院已開始面向?qū)в稳后w與公眾倡導(dǎo)"零廢棄游覽"新模式。

A training session was held Tuesday for tour guides who should encourage visitors to participate in garbage sorting and recycling during their tours.
故宮博物院于7月13日舉辦了一場導(dǎo)游培訓(xùn)宣講會，導(dǎo)游應(yīng)鼓勵游客在參觀過程中參與垃圾分類和回收工作。

The Palace Museum launched a "zero waste" program in January 2020 to work toward the goal of minimizing the amount of waste that would go through landfills or incineration.
"故宮零廢棄"項(xiàng)目于2020年1月在故宮博物院發(fā)起，持續(xù)追求"將填埋/焚燒處理的垃圾減少至無限趨近于零"的目標(biāo)。

A no-waste approach has been adopted for office work at the museum over last year.

>ECB launches digital euro project
歐洲央行啟動數(shù)字歐元項(xiàng)目

The European Central Bank decided on Wednesday to launch a two-year investigation phase of a digital euro, marking the formal start of a central bank digital currency project for the 19-member currency bloc. The investigation phase aims to address key issues regarding design and distribution, the bank said in a statement.
歐洲中央銀行7月14日發(fā)布聲明，宣布啟動數(shù)字歐元項(xiàng)目并展開相關(guān)調(diào)查研究，調(diào)查研究為期2年，這一階段旨在解決數(shù)字歐元設(shè)計(jì)和發(fā)行等關(guān)鍵問題。

According to the bank, the investigation phase will focus on a possible functional design of the digital currency, shed light on possible changes to the EU legislative framework, assess the potential impact of a digital euro on the market, and define a business model for supervised intermediaries.
