An official with the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, said on Wednesday that he disagrees with parents who force their children to take extra after-school training courses.
全國人大常委會法工委社會法室主任郭林茂5月26日表示，不贊同一些家長逼迫未成年人額外參加有關(guān)培訓(xùn)機構(gòu)學習的行為。

Guo Linmao said that, during the solicitation of public opinion on the draft revision to the Law on the Protection of Minors, nearly 20,000 minors raised suggestions about alleviating their educational workload.
他透露，在未成年人保護法修訂草案公開征求意見過程中，近兩萬名未成年人提出的意見絕大多數(shù)都關(guān)于減負。

The revision stipulates that guardians of minors are obliged to ensure they have time for rest, entertainment and physical exercise, and that schools should work with parents and other guardians to keep study time to within a reasonable range.
新修改的未成年人保護法明確，監(jiān)護人的職責包括保障未成年人休息、娛樂和體育鍛煉的時間；學校應(yīng)當與未成年學生的父母或者其他監(jiān)護人互相配合，合理安排未成年學生的學習時間。

China's top legislature adopted the revised law in October 2020, and it will go into effect on June 1.
新修訂的未成年人保護法于2020年10月通過，今年6月1日正式實施。

>Report warns of growing smoking risks
報告:中國煙民人數(shù)超3億

More than 1 million people in China are killed by smoking-related diseases each year, and the number will double by 2030 should the current smoking trend continue, warned a report jointly released by China's National Health Commission and the World Health Organization China Representative Office on Wednesday. The report was released ahead of the 34th World No Tobacco Day, which falls on May 31.
5月31日是第34個世界無煙日。5月26日，國家衛(wèi)健委與世界衛(wèi)生組織駐華代表處聯(lián)合發(fā)布的報告稱，我國每年有100多萬人死于煙草相關(guān)疾病，如不采取有效行動，預(yù)計到2030年將增至每年200萬人。

It pointed out that there are currently more than 300 million cigarette smokers in the country. The smoking rate of Chinese people aged 15 and older is 26.6%, down by about 7.3 percentage points from 1984.
報告顯示，我國吸煙人數(shù)超過3億，15歲及以上人群吸煙率為26.6%，這一比例較1984年下降了7.3個百分點。

The global rate stands at 19.2%.

>Foreign investment rules relaxed
商務(wù)部放寬外資準入限制

China will relax rules for foreign investment, increasing its market appeal to global investors and signaling its determination to deepen opening up.
我國將放寬外資準入限制，從而增強市場對國際投資者的吸引力，顯示深化對外開放的決心。

The country's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has made public its plan for formulating regulations and laws in 2021, putting on the agenda the revision of the guideline on foreign strategic investment in Chinese listed firms. The revision seeks to "ease restrictions on foreign strategic investment, and introduce innovative supervision approaches for the sector," the ministry said in a recent online statement.

With a 4% growth in foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow last year, China stood out as the largest recipient of FDI in the world, according to a report from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. In the first four months of 2021, FDI into the Chinese mainland, in actual use, surged by 38.6% year-on-year, MOC data showed.

Poland will launch a lottery with prizes of as much as 1 million zlotys to encourage people to get vaccinated against COVID-19, the minister in charge of the immunization program said on Tuesday.
