>China succeeds in Mars landing

China's Tianwen 1 Mars probe streaked down through the Martian sky on May 15, becoming the country's first probe to land on a planet other than Earth. The lander, carrying a Mars rover, touched down at its pre-selected landing area in the southern part of Utopia Planitia, a vast plain on the northern hemisphere of Mars, at 7:18 am (Beijing Time), the China National Space Administration announced.
國家航天局宣布，北京時(shí)間5月15日7時(shí)18分，我國天問一號(hào)火星探測(cè)器攜祝融號(hào)火星車成功著陸于火星北半球?yàn)跬邪钇皆喜款A(yù)選著陸區(qū)，實(shí)現(xiàn)了我國首次地外行星著陸。

China's first Mars rover is named Zhurong after the god of fire in ancient Chinese mythology, which echoes with the Chinese name of the red planet: Huoxing (the planet of fire).
我國首輛火星車命名為"祝融"，祝融是中國上古神話中的火神，這個(gè)名字恰好與火星的名字相呼應(yīng)。

>Better life-quality for the disabled
加強(qiáng)殘疾人的民生保障

Chinese State Councilor Wang Yong on Sunday called for improving the quality of life of the disabled and enhancing the protection of their livelihood. Wang, director of State Council Working Committee on Disability, made the remarks while attending a series of activities marking China's 31st National Day for Helping the Disabled in Beijing.
國務(wù)委員、國務(wù)院殘疾人工作委員會(huì)主任王勇5月16日在京出席第三十一次全國助殘日活動(dòng)。他強(qiáng)調(diào)，要提高殘疾人生活品質(zhì)，更好保障殘疾人合法權(quán)益。

Wang talked with disabled entrepreneurs, visited a rehabilitation center, and learned about its work.
在活動(dòng)現(xiàn)場(chǎng)，王勇與殘疾人創(chuàng)業(yè)者親切交流。在一家職業(yè)康復(fù)機(jī)構(gòu)，王勇詳細(xì)了解殘疾人藝術(shù)及體育康復(fù)教學(xué)情況。

Noting that some disabled people are facing difficulties due to low incomes, Wang called for improving the employment situation and earnings of the disabled by providing better skills training and aid in job-seeking. Wang also emphasized improving relevant public services, such as rehabilitation and further developing disabled-friendly infrastructure.
王勇指出，仍有部分低收入殘疾人生活還比較困難。要加強(qiáng)職業(yè)培訓(xùn)和就業(yè)幫扶，提高殘疾人就業(yè)能力和收入水平，并大力發(fā)展殘疾人康復(fù)、無障礙等公共服務(wù)。

>Competition held in Bulgaria
保加利亞舉辦線上'漢語橋'

The Bulgarian national qualification contest of the 20th "Chinese Bridge", a major international Chinese proficiency competition for foreign university students, was held in Sofia on Sunday.
第20屆"漢語橋"世界大學(xué)生中文比賽保加利亞賽區(qū)比賽5月16日在索非亞舉行。

The event, organized by the Chinese embassy in Bulgaria and the Confucius Institute in Sofia, was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with seven students from three universities participating.
本次比賽由中國駐保加利亞大使館主辦，索非亞大學(xué)孔子學(xué)院承辦。由于新冠疫情，比賽以線上方式舉行。來自三所大學(xué)的七名學(xué)生參加了比賽。

Radina Yanuzova, a 23-year-old student from Sofia University’s "St. Kliment Ohridski", won the competition with 95.71 points out of 100.
最終，來自索非亞大學(xué)的23歲學(xué)生拉迪娜?亞努佐娃以95.71分(滿分100分)的成績奪冠。

She will represent Bulgaria at the finals in China.
她將代表保加利亞參加在中國舉行的決賽。

The "Chinese Bridge" competition is organized annually to inspire foreign students to learn Chinese and enhance their understanding of Chinese culture.

Los Angeles Lakers icon and legend Kobe Bryant was inducted posthumously into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2020 on Saturday, together with contemporaries "the Big Fundamental" Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett.
