>Fake coronavirus test certificates
Border officials in the UK are forced to take travelers' COVID-19 test paperwork at "face value" and just accept results are negative - because they are often written in a foreign language.
Lucy Moreton, professional officer for the Immigration Services Union (ISU), said travelers' documents in anything other than English often simply had to be "taken on trust".
She said officers did spot around 100 fake COVID-19 certificates a day, but that there was no way of knowing how many more evaded detection.
She said the fakes that they do spot are largely because there is an obvious spelling error in the English ones.
"If you happen to speak one of the other specified languages and you can spot a spelling error, then you might see that as well.”
And in her evidence to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Coronavirus, she also warned there was "little to no evidence" on how well incoming travelers to the UK were complying with quarantine.
>Loneliness increases risk of cancer
Lonely and single middle-aged men are at an increased risk of developing cancer than those in a relationship and with people around them, according to a new study.
A team from the University of Eastern Finland worked with 2,570 middle-aged men, monitoring their health and mortality from the 1980s to the present day.
Over the course of the study, 25% of participants had developed cancer, with 11% of the Finnish men involved dying from the condition.
There was a 'clear link' between loneliness and an increased risk of cancer, the team explained, with being lonely increasing the risk of cancer by about 10%.
Globally, cancer is the second leading cause of death.
Loneliness has been suggested as a risk factor for cancer mortality. However, connections between loneliness, social isolation, and cancer are poorly understood.
Recent studies have suggested that loneliness could be as significant a health risk as smoking or being overweight, according to the researchers.
>Weddings on grounded planes
All Nippon Airways Co. will start offering wedding ceremonies in May aboard planes grounded due to the plunge in air travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The airline is looking to bring in as much extra cash as possible amid the pandemic through services like domestic sightseeing flights and offering meals on grounded planes.
>Fake pockets in dresses and jeans
You’ll see it in women’s clothing, men’s suits, and more.
Why do apparel companies do this?
Why do some pieces of clothing sport fake pockets when the real thing is so practical?
For the garment industry, the reason for a fake pocket is simple.
For clothes that sport a specific kind of cut or form, pockets might alter the shape either in the warehouse or on the retail rack.
By eliminating pockets in key areas, the apparel can maintain its aesthetic profile.
The practice dates back to the 17th century, when pockets were actually removable bags in dresses that women would carry from one ensemble to the next.
As more streamlined clothing appeared, slim pockets began being sewn into apparel, making a person’s silhouette more aesthetically pleasing for designers.
If you’re flummoxed by the lack of pockets in your clothing, there are workarounds.
Some apparel manufacturers use real pockets instead of fakes—they just sew them shut to maintain the clothing’s profile during transport or when people try them on to see if they fit.
You can simply snip the threads sewing the pocket shut to make use of them again.
