中國連續(xù)11年制造業(yè)居首
China has maintained its position as the world's largest manufacturing hub for 11 straight years, accounting for nearly 30% of global manufacturing output according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In the past five years, the value-added industrial output in China has increased from 23.5 to 31.3 trillion yuan, minister Xiao Yaqing said on Monday.
3月1日，工信部部長肖亞慶在工業(yè)和信息化發(fā)展情況發(fā)布會上介紹，回顧過去的五年，我國工業(yè)增加值由23.5萬億元增加到31.3萬億元，連續(xù)11年成為世界最大的制造業(yè)國家。制造業(yè)的占比比重對世界制造業(yè)貢獻(xiàn)的比重接近30%。
During the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) period, the average growth rate of the value-added output from China's high-tech manufacturing sector reached 10.4%, up 4.9 percentage points from overall industrial output, MIIT data showed.
肖亞慶指出，"十三五"時(shí)期高技術(shù)制造業(yè)增加值平均增速達(dá)到了10.4%，高于規(guī)上工業(yè)增加值的平均增速4.9個(gè)百分點(diǎn)。
The information transmission and software and information technology service industries have seen remarkable progress during the period. Their value-added industrial output surged from 1.8 to 3.8 trillion yuan, with the proportion in gross domestic product growing from 2.5% to 3.7%, Xiao added.
同時(shí)，信息傳輸軟件和信息技術(shù)服務(wù)業(yè)的增加值，也有明顯的提升，由約1.8萬億元增加到了3.8萬億元，占GDP比重由2.5提升到3.7。
By the end of 2020, household penetration of fixed broadband in China reached 96%, while the mobile broadband penetration rate came in at 108%, the data showed.
截至2020年底，我國固定寬帶家庭普及率已達(dá)到96%，移動寬帶用戶普及率達(dá)到108%。
In terms of 5G development, the country has built a total of 718,000 5G base stations by the end of last year, with the number of mobile terminals connected to the network exceeding 200 million, according to the MIIT.
到2020年底，累計(jì)開通5G基站71.8萬個(gè)，5G手機(jī)終端連接數(shù)突破2億戶。

Zhang Yingduan, deputy head of the organization department of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, said both domestic and overseas candidates can apply for the positions.

>Okonjo-Iweala takes over as WTO chief
WTO新任總干事就任
The World Trade Organization's first female and first African Director General, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, officially took office on Monday.
恩戈齊?奧孔喬-伊韋阿拉3月1日正式就任世界貿(mào)易組織第七任總干事。她是世貿(mào)組織歷史上首位女性總干事，也是首位來自非洲的總干事。
Addressing the General Council on her first day at the post, Okonjo-Iweala pledged to "bring all my knowledge, passion, experience and persistence to the task at hand, reforming the organization and achieving results."
奧孔喬-伊韋阿拉當(dāng)天在世貿(mào)組織總理事會線上會議上致辭時(shí)表示，她將把自己"所有的知識、熱情、經(jīng)驗(yàn)和堅(jiān)持不懈帶到總干事的工作中，并將致力于改革世貿(mào)組織和取得切實(shí)成果"。
Okonjo-Iweala, 66, has served as Nigeria's finance minister twice and briefly acted as foreign minister. She has worked for the World Bank for 25 years, including as managing director for operations.

On Feb 15, WTO members agreed by consensus to appoint the former finance minister of Nigeria as the new director-general. Her term will expire on Aug 31, 2025.
今年2月15日，世貿(mào)組織全體成員一致同意，任命奧孔喬-伊韋阿拉為新任總干事，任期將持續(xù)至2025年8月31日。

>Virus won't end soon
年底前結(jié)束疫情不現(xiàn)實(shí)
A senior World Health Organization official said Monday it was "premature" and "unrealistic" to think the pandemic might be stopped by the end of the year, but that the recent arrival of effective vaccines could at least help dramatically reduce hospitalizations and death. The world's singular focus right now should be to keep transmission of COVID-19 as low as possible, said Dr. Michael Ryan, director of WHO's emergencies program. "If we're smart, we can finish with the hospitalizations and the deaths and the tragedy associated with this pandemic" by the end of the year, he said at a media briefing.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO's director-general, noted the number of COVID-19 cases increased last week after six consecutive weeks of declining numbers. He described the increase as "disappointing," but said it wasn't surprising.
世衛(wèi)組織總干事譚德塞表示，全球新冠肺炎新增病例數(shù)量此前已連續(xù)六周下降，但上周出現(xiàn)上升，他形容這種情況"令人失望"，但并不令人驚訝。
Tedros said the WHO was working to better understand why cases increased, but part of that spike appeared to be due to the "relaxing of public health measures."
