歐盟統(tǒng)計(jì)局近日發(fā)布的貿(mào)易數(shù)據(jù)顯示，中國在2020年首次超越美國（overtake the US），成為歐盟最大貿(mào)易伙伴（the EU's biggest trading partner）。

According to the EU's statistical service, the bloc's imports from China throughout the year 2020 grew by 5.6 percent year-on-year to 383.5 billion euros ($465 billion), and exports grew by 2.2 percent to 202.5 billion euros.
歐盟統(tǒng)計(jì)局的數(shù)據(jù)顯示，2020年歐盟與中國進(jìn)出口貿(mào)易實(shí)現(xiàn)雙增長，其中從中國進(jìn)口商品3835億歐元，同比增長5.6%；向中國出口商品2025億歐元，同比增長2.2%。

在統(tǒng)計(jì)類的報(bào)道中，我們經(jīng)常會(huì)看到“同比”這個(gè)表述，其實(shí)就是用當(dāng)前的數(shù)據(jù)跟上一年年同期的數(shù)據(jù)相比。“同比”英文用形容詞year-on-year或者副詞短語year on year表示，比如：There were 2.95 million delivery staff at Meituan Dianping at the end of June, an increase of 16.4 percent year-on-year（今年6月底，美團(tuán)點(diǎn)評共有外賣人員295萬，同比增加了16.4%）。In July, the share price has grown 20% year on year.（7月份，股票價(jià)格同比上漲了20%）。

此前，美國是歐盟第一大貿(mào)易伙伴。

The EU's trade with the US saw a substantial decline both ways in 2020, according to Eurostat.

Trade with the United States recorded a significant drop in both imports (-13.2%) and exports (-8.2%).

在歐盟前十大貨物貿(mào)易伙伴中，中國是唯一實(shí)現(xiàn)貿(mào)易雙向增長的。

中國是2020年唯一實(shí)現(xiàn)經(jīng)濟(jì)增長的全球主要經(jīng)濟(jì)體，對歐洲汽車和奢侈品的需求進(jìn)一步增加。

【單詞講解】

這里表達(dá)“催生需求”時(shí)用了一個(gè)很地道的動(dòng)詞stoke，這個(gè)詞本意是“stir up a fire; supply with fuel”，即“撥動(dòng)火堆使其燒得更旺；添加燃料”，由此引申出了“激起、煽動(dòng)、促進(jìn)”等意思，比如：The new ad campaign has helped to stoke sales（新的廣告宣傳活動(dòng)幫助提升了銷量），在這個(gè)語境下，stoke與boost意思相近，可以替換使用。
