Global foreign direct investment plunged by 42 percent in 2020, a new report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development showed on Sunday, while China bucked the trend, becoming the world's top recipient of investment flows.

Flows to Europe dried up, tumbling by two-thirds, it noted.

A sharp decrease of 49 percent to $134 billion was also recorded in the US.

The decline in developing economies was relatively measured at 12 percent to an estimated $616 billion, the report showed.

FDI flows to China rose by 4 percent to $163 billion, making the country the world's largest recipient in 2020, followed by the US.

>11 miners rescued after 14 days
11名被困礦工成功升井
Eleven of 22 miners were rescued on Sunday after being trapped underground for two weeks due to a blast in a gold mine on Jan 10 in Qixia, under the city of Yantai in East China’s Shandong province.
1月10日，山東煙臺棲霞市一金礦發(fā)生爆炸事故，22名礦工被困井下。1月24日，11名礦工在被困井下14天后成功升井獲救。
The first miner was lifted from the mine at 11:13 am Sunday. The worker, in extremely weak condition, was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

At 3:18 pm, the number of rescued workers reached 11.

Experts said the rescue of the 11 miners on Sunday was beyond their expectations, as only three days ago they had estimated that it would take rescuers at least 15 days to dig through the block to reach the trapped workers.
專家表示，1月24日11名礦工成功升井遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)早于此前的預(yù)判。據(jù)1月21日他們的估算，要至少15天才能完成障礙物清理，打通救生通道。

>Commemorative coin for Year of the Ox
央行發(fā)牛年賀歲紀(jì)念幣
China's central bank will issue a commemorative coin on Friday to celebrate the coming Chinese zodiac Year of the Ox.
為慶祝即將到來的牛年，中國人民銀行定于1月29日發(fā)行2021年賀歲普通紀(jì)念幣一枚。
The round, copper-alloy coin is 27 mm in diameter and has a face value of 10 yuan, said the People's Bank of China. The central bank will issue a total of 150 million such coins.
中國人民銀行表示，2021年賀歲普通紀(jì)念幣面額為10元，直徑為27毫米，材質(zhì)為雙色銅合金，發(fā)行數(shù)量為1.5億枚。
The front side of the coin shows its face value and the year of issuance, while the reverse side features an ox raising its head.
紀(jì)念幣正面圖案為"10元"字樣及年號"2021"，背面主景圖案為一頭抬頭牛造型。
The Year of the Ox is the second zodiac sign in the Chinese zodiac cycle. It will start on Feb 12, 2021 and last until Jan 31, 2022.

The Chinese Zodiac is represented by 12 animals to record the years and reflect people's attributes, including the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.

>Italy to take legal action

Italy will take legal action and step up pressure in Brussels against Pfizer Inc and AstraZeneca over delays in deliveries of COVID-19 vaccines with a view to securing agreed supplies, Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said on Sunday.
意大利外長路易吉?迪馬約1月24日表示，意大利將就推遲交付新冠疫苗一事對輝瑞公司和阿斯利康采取法律行動(dòng)，并在歐盟對兩家藥企施加壓力，以確保疫苗按合同約定交付。
