China's new deep-sea manned submersible Fendouzhe, or Striver, set a national diving record of 10,909 meters on Tuesday in the Challenger Deep, an 11,000-meter chasm located at the bottom of the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific Ocean, according to China Central Television.
據(jù)中央電視臺報道，11月10日，我國全海深載人潛水器"奮斗者"號創(chuàng)下了10909米的國內(nèi)載人深潛新紀(jì)錄。"奮斗者"號深潛器成功下潛到了西太平洋馬里亞納海溝深1.1萬米的挑戰(zhàn)者深淵。
The submersible first broke the 10,000-meter milestone by descending to 10,058 meters on Oct 27.
10月27日，"奮斗者"號下潛首次突破1萬米，達到10058米。
The world's current deepest diving manned submersible is DSV Limiting Factor, which reached 10,927 meters last year.
目前全球載人深潛紀(jì)錄是"深潛限制因子"號去年創(chuàng)下的10927米。
Experts said these deep-sea vehicles could help collect samples and data from the deepest part of the ocean for hydrothermal, geological and marine biological research, as well as study the human impact on the area.
專家表示，深潛器可以幫助從大洋最深處采集標(biāo)本和數(shù)據(jù)，有助于科學(xué)家對熱液、地質(zhì)和海洋生物的研究，幫助他們掌握人類活動對海洋的影響。

>Inflation falls to 11-year low
豬肉降價CPI漲幅創(chuàng)新低
China's consumer inflation eased for a third straight month and hit an 11-year low in October as food prices tumbled, official data showed Tuesday.
11月10日公布的官方數(shù)據(jù)顯示，隨著食品價格下跌，10月份全國居民消費價格指數(shù)(CPI)連續(xù)第三個月回落，并創(chuàng)下近11年來的新低。
The consumer price index rose 0.5% year-on-year last month, narrowing from the 1.7% rise in September, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
國家統(tǒng)計局公布的數(shù)據(jù)顯示，10月CPI同比上漲0.5%，漲幅比9月回落1.2個百分點。
On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.3%. Food prices went down 1.8% last month.
從環(huán)比看，CPI下降0.3%，食品價格下降1.8%。
Dong Lijuan, a senior statistician at NBS, attributed the tamed inflation to the drop in food prices, especially eggs, vegetables and pork.

Prices of eggs and vegetables dropped 2.3% and 2.1%, respectively, from September amid abundant supply.

>Paid leave policy for workers
深圳加班多將'強制休假'
Shenzhen has decided to implement a local health regulation beginning Jan 1 to forcefully allow employees to enjoy paid leave.
深圳市將于明年1月1日正式實施地方性健康法規(guī)，推行強制休假制度。
Employers are required to enforce the paid leave policy, and arrange rotation for employees with a heavy mental and physical workload to relieve excessive physical and mental pressures, according to the regulation.
根據(jù)條例，用人單位應(yīng)當(dāng)嚴(yán)格執(zhí)行員工帶薪休假制度，對腦力和體力勞動負荷較重的員工，實行輪休制度，避免對員工健康造成人體機能過度損耗或者身心健康傷害。
Human resources departments and trade unions should strengthen employer supervision and inspection over the implementation.
人力資源保障部門和工會等組織應(yīng)當(dāng)加強對用人單位落實員工帶薪休假制度的監(jiān)督檢查。Chinese internet users have expressed their support for the new regulation but still worried about the implementation.

Although paid leave has been included in the country's labor law for more than 20 years, few workers could enjoy it.

Professor Tang Renwu, president of Beijing Normal University's School of Government, said studies should be done on the feasibility of the regulation, cost of supervision and how to punish employers for not implementing it. Tang added that details of the regulation should be defined as soon as possible.
北京師范大學(xué)政府管理研究院院長唐任伍教授公開建議，下一步要認(rèn)真研究條例的可行性、監(jiān)管成本有多高、企業(yè)不執(zhí)行怎樣進行懲戒等問題，并呼吁盡快出臺相應(yīng)的實施細則。

>Old notes still radioactive
居里夫人筆記仍有輻射
The official Twitter account of the Nobel Prize tweeted recently that the laboratory notebook used by Nobel laureate Marie Curie is still radioactive and will be for 1,500 years.
諾貝爾獎官方推特賬號日前發(fā)布推文稱，瑪麗?居里(居里夫人)在實驗室使用過的筆記本時至今日依然具有放射性，且還將持續(xù)1500年。
Marie Curie, the physicist and chemist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity, died of aplastic anemia in 1934, a result of years of exposure to radiation through her work.
