國(guó)際熱核聚變實(shí)驗(yàn)堆計(jì)劃重大工程安裝啟動(dòng)儀式7月28日在法國(guó)該組織總部舉行。國(guó)家主席習(xí)近平致賀信指出，十多年來的積極探索和實(shí)踐充分證明，開放交流是探索科學(xué)前沿的關(guān)鍵路徑。
President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the ceremony for the start of assembly of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), which took place on July 28 at the megaproject's headquarters in France. The active explorations and practices through the past over 10 years have fully proved that open exchanges are a key route for exploring scientific frontiers, Xi said in the message.

國(guó)際熱核聚變實(shí)驗(yàn)堆計(jì)劃是當(dāng)今世界規(guī)模最大、影響最深遠(yuǎn)的國(guó)際大科學(xué)工程。它旨在模擬太陽(yáng)發(fā)光發(fā)熱的核聚變過程，探索受控核聚變技術(shù)商業(yè)化可行性。歐盟、中國(guó)、美國(guó)、日本、韓國(guó)、印度和俄羅斯共同資助了這一項(xiàng)目。
本次啟動(dòng)的是國(guó)際熱核聚變實(shí)驗(yàn)堆托卡馬克裝置安裝工程。托卡馬克裝置是一種利用磁約束來實(shí)現(xiàn)受控核聚變的環(huán)形裝置。它的中央是一個(gè)環(huán)形真空，外面圍繞著線圈。通電時(shí)其內(nèi)部會(huì)產(chǎn)生巨大螺旋形磁場(chǎng)，將其中的等離子體加熱到很高溫度，以達(dá)到受控核聚變的目的。
