British leading epidemiologist Neil Ferguson resigned from the Government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) on Tuesday after media reported that he broke social distancing rules.

Hebei province has issued a similar notice to local schools. It said schools should collect students' accommodation fees according to their actual length of residence during the period of COVID-19.

China is ratcheting up efforts to accelerate the commercialization of superfast 5G technology, as it has built 198,000 5G stations and secured more than 50 million 5G mobile subscribers nationwide, as of the end of March, the nation's top industry regulator said.

China's Long March 5B carrier rocket made its first flight on Tuesday evening at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan province, marking a new chapter in the country's manned space program, according to the China Manned Space Agency.
