諾獎經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)獎得主揭曉
The 2019 Nobel Prize in Economics has been awarded to Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer "for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty," the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced Monday.
瑞典皇家科學(xué)院14日宣布,將2019年諾貝爾經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)獎授予阿比吉特?巴納吉、埃絲特?迪弗洛和邁克爾?克雷默,以表彰他們助全球脫貧的實(shí)驗(yàn)性方法。
Banerjee, born 1961 in Mumbai, India, is now a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. Duflo, born 1972 in Paris, France, is also a professor at the MIT. She is the youngest person ever and only the second woman to receive the economics prize. Kremer, born 1964, is a professor at Harvard University in the US.
巴納吉1961年出生于印度孟買,現(xiàn)任美國麻省理工學(xué)院教授。迪弗洛1972年生于法國巴黎,也是麻省理工學(xué)院的教授。她是最年輕的諾貝爾經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)獎得主,也是該獎第二位女性得主。1964年出生的克雷默是美國哈佛大學(xué)的教授。
According to the academy, the research conducted by this year's laureates has considerably improved our ability to fight global poverty. It said they tackled the issue by breaking it down into smaller questions that could be better asked and answered.
瑞典皇家科學(xué)院稱,今年諾貝爾經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)獎得主進(jìn)行的研究被認(rèn)為大大提高了我們抗擊全球貧困的能力。他們將全球貧困問題分解成可以更好地提出和解答的更小問題,從而對此加以解決。
It said they looked into how best to improve the health of children by examining their education, health systems, agricultural approaches and access to credit.

British Queen Elizabeth II on Monday delivered a speech setting out the government's agenda at the State Opening of Parliament.
英國女王伊麗莎白二世14日在議會開幕大典上發(fā)表演講,宣布政府工作議程。
"My government intends to work towards a new partnership with the European Union (EU), based on free trade and friendly cooperation," the Queen said.
女王說:"我國政府計(jì)劃在自由貿(mào)易和友好合作的基礎(chǔ)上與歐盟建立新的伙伴關(guān)系。"
She said her ministers will work on new regimes for fisheries, agriculture and trade, "seizing the opportunities that arise from leaving the EU." The speech also included policies on crime, health and the environment form the heart of the government's new legislative agenda.

The Queen outlined over 20 bills in her speech. The Queen's Speech, which is usually delivered to the new session of the parliament during the State Opening and is expected for the government to highlight its priorities, came as Britain and the EU are rushing against the clock to lock down a Brexit deal ahead of the coming key EU summit.

2020國考擬招錄2.4萬人
China plans to recruit about 24,000 civil servants to work for 86 central agencies and 23 institutions directly attached to them in the 2020 civil servant intake, the State Administration of Civil Service said Monday.
國家公務(wù)員局14日表示,2020年度國家公務(wù)員考試共計(jì)劃招錄約2.4萬人,涉及中央和國家機(jī)關(guān)86個單位、23個直屬機(jī)構(gòu)。
The recruitment, the first after the country's civil servant law was revised, offers more vacancies than about 14,500 last year.
這是新修訂的公務(wù)員法實(shí)施后第一次中央機(jī)關(guān)及其直屬機(jī)構(gòu)公務(wù)員招考,招錄規(guī)模較上年的約1.45萬人大幅增加。
Applications will be open from Oct 15 to 24, with positions to be posted on authorized websites, the administration said. A national written exam is scheduled to be held on Nov 24 across the country.

China's capital city Beijing and financial center Shanghai ranked among the top 10 wealthiest cities worldwide in 2019, according to a report by wealth study company New World Wealth.
財(cái)富研究公司新世界財(cái)富發(fā)布的一份報告顯示,中國首都北京和金融中心上海進(jìn)入2019年全球十大最富城市榜單。
Beijing grabbed the 5th place on the list with a total wealth of $2.1 trillion and Shanghai took the 6th spot with total wealth amounting to $1.9 trillion.
北京位列第5,財(cái)富總額為2.1萬億美元,上海位列第6,財(cái)富總額為1.9萬億美元。
Landing in the same position as last year, China's Hong Kong remained 8th on the list, in which New York City claimed the crown with $3 trillion in total wealth as well as 65 billionaires and over 380,000 millionaires.
中國香港位列第8位,與去年的名次相同。擁有65名億萬富翁和超過38萬名百萬富翁的紐約,問鼎全球最富有城市榜單的冠軍寶座,其財(cái)富總額為3萬億美元。
Tokyo came in second with a total wealth of $2.5 trillion, followed by the San Francisco Bay Area and London, both of which held $2.4 trillion in total wealth.
東京以2.5萬億美元的財(cái)富總額排名第二。舊金山和倫敦并列第三,財(cái)富總額均為2.4萬億美元。
The "total wealth" mentioned in the report referred to the private wealth held by all individuals including property, cash, equities and business interests.
報告中的"財(cái)富總額"指的是該市所有居民的私人財(cái)富總和,包括房產(chǎn)、現(xiàn)金、股票和商業(yè)利益。
