1. It’s stiflingly hot. I can hardly study all!

天氣太悶熱了，我根本沒法好好學(xué)習(xí)！

→stifling  [?sta?fl??]令人窒息的悶熱

- I hate having to work in such a stifling office!

-我討厭在這樣一個悶熱的辦公室里工作！

2. It’s raining fire! The road is melting and I am leaking/ sweating.

太熱了！感覺渾身都在滴汗，路也在融化。

→to rain fire火辣辣的熱，像在下火一樣

- Are you crazy? It's raining fire outside and you want to take a walk?

-你瘋了是不是？外面熱得像在下火，你居然說要去外面散步？

3.If we do not escape the heat, it is easy to have sunstroke.

這樣的天氣不避暑，就會中暑。

4. I am sweating like a pig, and I’m not doing anything.

雖然我什么都沒做，但還是汗流浹背。

這個說法很有趣，因為豬沒有汗腺，無法像許多動物那樣全身流汗，所以豬感到熱的時候，會到泥坑里面打滾降溫。

那么為什么人們形容流很多汗會說像豬一樣呢，大概是因為人們對豬的印象不好，認(rèn)為它們很臟、很能吃，也很能流汗吧。

5. Let‘s stay at home; you could fry eggs on the sidewalk.

我們呆在家里吧，人行道上都可以煎蛋了。

6. It’s too hot to think. I need to find some place to cool off.

熱得我都沒法思考，我需要找個地方?jīng)隹鞗隹臁?/p>

H指代hot。

9. It's not just hot, it's Africa hot! This weather is terrible.

不止是熱，是像非洲一樣熱！天熱得嚇人。

→Africa hot =extremely hot weather

- It's Africa-hot out there! I wouldn't step outside if you paid me 100 yuan.

-外面太熱了！就算你給我100塊錢我也不會出門的。

10. It’s hot enough to melt hell. I hope it will be cooler soon.

現(xiàn)在熱得足以把地獄熔化了，希望很快能夠涼快一點。

→ 簡單的說：It's hot as hell.真的熱到要死了！
