“走過場(chǎng)”,原本指戲劇演出中“角色從一側(cè)出場(chǎng),馬上從另一側(cè)退場(chǎng),中間不作停留(go from one end of the stage to the other without stopping)”。
現(xiàn)在用來比喻“只是表面上做做樣子,不采取實(shí)際行動(dòng)(pretend to do something by acting as if one was really doing it)”,或“不求實(shí)效,敷衍了事(do something without thinking it is very important or having much interest in it)”。
相當(dāng)于英文的“do something as a mere formality(例行公事)”或“go through the motions”。
例句:
zhè guò chǎng wǒ men bì xū zǒu
這過場(chǎng)我們必須走。
This is a formality we must go through.
tā yǐ jīng zhī dào zì jǐ bèi lù yòng le,suǒ yǐ miàn shì jǐn jǐn shì zǒu zǒu guò chǎng
他已經(jīng)知道自己被錄用了,所以面試僅僅是走走過場(chǎng)。
He already knows he has the job so the interview is a mere formality.
tā shuō tā yī zhí zài diào chá wǒ de tóu sù,dàn wǒ jué de tā zhǐ shì zài zǒu guò chǎng
他說他一直在調(diào)查我的投訴,但我覺得他只是在走過場(chǎng)。
He says he's been investigating my complaint, but I feel he's just going through the motions.
