2018年3月20日，十三屆全國(guó)人大一次會(huì)議閉幕會(huì)上，習(xí)近平發(fā)表重要講話，他提出：

我們要以更大的力度、更實(shí)的措施全面深化改革、擴(kuò)大對(duì)外開放，貫徹新發(fā)展理念，推動(dòng)經(jīng)濟(jì)高質(zhì)量發(fā)展，建設(shè)現(xiàn)代化經(jīng)濟(jì)體系，不斷增強(qiáng)我國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)實(shí)力、科技實(shí)力、綜合國(guó)力，讓社會(huì)主義市場(chǎng)經(jīng)濟(jì)的活力更加充分地展示出來。
We will devote more energy and take more concrete measures in deepening reform in all areas, expanding opening up, applying a new vision of development, promoting high-quality economic development and developing a modernized economy to increase China's economic and technological strength, and composite national strength, so as to better demonstrate the vitality of the socialist market economy.

What has happened proves that opening-up was key to China’s economic growth over the past 40 years and in the same vein, high-quality development of China’s economy in the future can only be achieved with greater openness.
