73歲的中國奶奶,在紐約突然成了網(wǎng)紅!原因太暖心了……

近日,一位73歲來自中國廣東臺山的奶奶林蘭(音譯)在Instagram上火了,原因是她做的一手可口誘人的中國菜。
林奶奶被女兒Lisa接去紐約后,每日給家人做飯,女兒便將她做的中國菜拍下來傳到Instagram上。沒想到這些色香味俱全的家鄉(xiāng)菜肴立刻引來了全美國各地移民的圍觀。
就這樣,這對有愛的母女,通過小小的ins賬號,溫暖了數(shù)萬海外游子。
《華盛頓郵報》專門寫了一篇報道,講述老奶奶的故事:
Lan Lin doesn't go around telling her friends she's famous on Instagram. For that matter, Lan, 73, isn't really sure how Instagram works.
林蘭并不會逢人就炫耀自己是Instagram網(wǎng)紅,話說回來,這位73歲的老人其實不太懂Instagram。
Nevertheless, first-, second- and third-generation immigrants across the country have rallied around the videos her daughter Lisa films as she cooks traditional Chinese dishes with her mother.
盡管如此,全美國各地第一、二、三代的移民們都在圍觀她的女兒Lisa的視頻,看她倆一起烹飪中國菜肴。
Lisa在拍視頻的過程中,還記錄下媽媽做飯時的一些傳統(tǒng)中國習(xí)慣,比如她會用一個普通的小塑料杯量米,比如她不用精確計量,憑感覺就能和出完美的面團,調(diào)制出恰到好處的味道。
Lan never relies on exact measurements or precise cooking times, so Lisa retests her mother's recipes before posting a simplified version to her blog.
林奶奶從不依靠精確計量或分秒不差的烹飪時間,所以Lisa會重新計算母親使用的各種作料,然后再發(fā)布一個精簡版的視頻到博客上。

在一些視頻里,林奶奶一面做菜,一面用臺山方言給女兒解釋每個步驟,畫面里透著家常溫馨的氣氛。
As she cooks, she explains the recipe in Taishanese, the dialect she grew up speaking in Taishan, a city in South China's coastal Guangdong province.
林奶奶做飯時,會用臺山話解釋菜譜,她在廣東臺山長大,這是她的家鄉(xiāng)話。
Lisa很珍惜和媽媽做飯的時光,她說:
“There are certain dishes that, if my mom doesn't pass over to the next generation, will just be gone.”
“有些菜,如果媽媽不傳給我們下一代,大概就會這樣失傳了?!?/p>
不過媽媽的菜肴精細而復(fù)雜,用料講究,配料多達數(shù)十種,對于忙碌的年輕人來說,操作起來有些困難,所以Lisa也會做一些簡化和改良。
Lisa takes her mother's recipes, which often have a dozen spices and other hard-to-find ingredients, and adjusts them for her followers.
Lisa記下了媽媽的菜譜,通常有數(shù)十味佐料,還有一些難以買到的配料,她會在稍作改良后發(fā)布給粉絲們。

Although she can't for the life of her figure out why, Lan has become an online mother figure and cooking teacher for thousands of young people she's never met.
雖然林奶奶無論如何也想不明白原因,不過在無數(shù)她從未謀面的年輕網(wǎng)友眼中,她儼然已成為一個母親般的人物和網(wǎng)絡(luò)烹飪老師。
對于那些移民海外的網(wǎng)友來說,林奶奶做的菜不僅僅勾人食欲,更勾起了濃濃的鄉(xiāng)愁。
They watch Lan's videos for a sense of belonging, a reminder of grandmothers still in China, dishes they haven't eaten since childhood, recipes they never thought to learn before moving across the world.
在林蘭的視頻中,他們找尋著一種歸屬感,一種對遠在中國的祖母的牽掛,回味著那些長大后就沒再吃過的食物,以及移居海外之前從沒想過要學(xué)的菜譜。
一位剛從馬來西亞搬到紐約的29歲網(wǎng)友Jiar Fong,去年無意間看到林奶奶的視頻,然后想家了。她說:
“When you live in your home country, all this food that you love is so easy (to find) that you never learn how to make it. The minute you move, you wish you remember how your mom made it, how your grandma made it.”
“在家的時候,愛吃的東西隨時都能吃到,從來沒想過要去學(xué)怎么做。一旦離家,便會后悔,多希望能記得那道菜媽媽是怎么做的,奶奶是怎么做的?!?/p>
看著Lisa錄制的視頻,她的心中充盈著感動:
“I teared up, being so far away from home. Maybe when I go back home I'll record my mom cooking, so that I can keep the recipes in my family.”
“遠離家鄉(xiāng)的我瞬間哭了。也許等我回家了,我也要錄下媽媽做飯的視頻,這樣就可以記住家鄉(xiāng)菜的做法了。”
不光是移民,美國的普通網(wǎng)友也愛看這些視頻,因為對家的思念都是相通的:

Very sweet! I watched my grandmother cook in a time when the video camera was too expensive to own. But we wrote down her recipes, trying to measure exactly what she put in the bowl. Everything was done by sight, feel and taste. Reading this article brings back great memories.
