>Wage growth lowest since 2008
Global wage growth in 2017 slowed to its lowest rate since 2008, the year of the financial crisis, despite solid economic growth and falling unemployment in major economies, the International Labour Organization (ILO) said Monday. Based on data from 136 countries, the ILO said wage growth fell from 2.4% in 2016 to just 1.8% last year. The latest global wage report also highlighted substantial differences between high-income and developing countries. In what the ILO calls "emerging and developing G20 economies", wages have almost tripled in the last 20 years, including 4.3-percent-growth last year. But in advanced G20 nations, wages have risen by a meager 9% over the past two decades and basically flatlined in 2017, with a rise of just 0.04%. Those figures, against the backdrop of rising economic growth and falling unemployment in high-income countries is "puzzling", ILO director-general Guy Ryder said.

Britain's Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are moving to Frogmore Cottage on the royal family's Windsor Estate early next year in time for their first child's birth in the spring, Kensington Palace said. "Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate," the palace said in a statement. They were married at Windsor Castle in May. Their new home to the west of London in Berkshire has formed part of a royal family residence since the 18th century, whose name comes from the abundance of frogs in low-lying marshy grounds. Since their engagement last year, Harry and Meghan had lived at Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace, London, where Harry's brother William, his wife Kate and their children George, Charlotte and Louis, live.

>Hotel offers 'Insta sitters'
Holidaymakers who want an online break but can't stand not updating their social media can now hire an "Instagram sitter" at one hotel chain. Ibis hotels in Switzerland are offering a quirky service called "Relax, We Post." The service will provide an "Instagram sitter" to post photos, stories and even reply to comments on behalf of guests who want a social media detox. All guests need to do is share their Instagram login details and the sitter will make sure the account is updated during their stay. The service is being offered at 17 hotels in Zurich and Geneva, with Ibis saying it aims to "eliminate the stress of being active on social media from their guests' holidays without the need to stop guests from posting beautiful photos during their stay." >InSight lands on Mars
NASA's InSight spacecraft touched down safely on Mars on Monday, kicking off its two-year mission as the first spacecraft designed to explore the deep interior of the red planet. Launched on May 5, InSight marks NASA's first landing on Mars since the Curiosity rover in 2012. NASA's online live broadcast reported InSight touched down on Mars at approximately 2:54 pm EST on Monday after a six-month, 480-million-km journey. The lander plunged through the thin Martian atmosphere at about 2:47 pm EST, heatshield first, and used a supersonic parachute to slow down. Then, it fired its retrorockets to slowly descend to the surface of Mars, and landed on the smooth plains of Elysium Planitia. The landing took just under seven minutes to complete, prompting the nickname "seven minutes of terror."
