That workers with six-figure salaries could be considered "poor" is something that might surprise many people. But taking into account income and housing costs, that is the reality for some families - who may be eligible for housing assistance - according to a recent report from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. In San Francisco and nearby San Mateo and Marin Counties, $117,400 for a family of four was "low income", while $73,300 was "very low income" - the highest figures anywhere in the country. Nearly two-thirds of American families of four live on less than San Francisco's "low-income" threshold of $117,400. Across the US, the median household income for a family of four is $91,000.

A 100-meter high iceberg has drifted close to a tiny settlement on Greenland's west coast, prompting fears of a tsunami if it breaks up. Authorities have told residents of the Innaarsuit island settlement living near the shore to move to higher ground. Susanne Eliassen, a member of Innaarsuit's council said it was not unusual for large icebergs to be seen close to the community. "But this iceberg is the biggest we have seen ... and there are cracks and holes that make us fear it can calve anytime," she said. "Nobody is staying unnecessarily close to the beach and all children have been told to stay in areas that are high up." The village's power station and fuel tanks are located close to the shore. Police have moved a search-and-rescue helicopter closer to the remote community, which has a population of about 170.

The official photos were taken at Clarence House after Louis was baptized in the chapel at St James's Palace. The images, taken by celebrity photographer Matt Holyoak, show Prince William and Kate posing with their three children - Louis, born April 23, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince George, 5 - as well as with their wider family. One shows Kate in a garden cuddling and gazing down at Louis, who is dressed in a frilly cream lace royal christening gown - a replica of the intricate robe made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter in 1841.

>Red dates fight cancer?

The trendy superfood "red dates" from Asia kill cancer cells in the lab, new research suggests. Jujube fruits, which are known as red dates due to them looking similar to the Middle Eastern staple, program lung, breast and prostate cancer cells to commit suicide, a study published in the journal Food & Function found. Red dates are thought to trigger cancer cell death by causing "internal stress" in tumors, according to researchers from the Royal Society of Chemistry. The researchers believe jujube extracts could be used in cancer treatments in traditional Chinese medicine. They add, however, further research is required to determine how jujube fruit's compounds trigger cancer cell death.
