美國總統(tǒng)特朗普10日宣布，他與朝鮮最高領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人金正恩的會晤將于6月12日在新加坡舉行。

特朗普當(dāng)天早上通過社交媒體推特宣布了這一消息。

他寫道：

"The highly anticipated meeting between Kim Jong Un and myself will take place in Singapore on June 12th. We will both try to make it a very special moment for World Peace!"

我與金正恩之間備受期待的會晤將于6月12日在新加坡舉行。我們將努力讓此次會晤成為世界和平的特殊時(shí)刻！

隨后，新加坡外交部發(fā)文證實(shí)：

Singapore is pleased to host the meeting between the two leaders on June 12, said the ministry in a statement, adding, "we hope this meeting will advance prospects for peace in the Korean Peninsula."

新加坡歡迎兩位領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人于6月12日的會晤。希望這次會晤能推進(jìn)朝鮮半島和平前景。

為什么選新加坡？

之所以青睞新加坡，是因?yàn)樗闹辛⑿裕╪eutrality）優(yōu)于其他更接近朝鮮首都平壤的地點(diǎn)。

Singapore is seen as a safe alternative. The island nation, a financial hub with a population of 5.6 million, has long been seen as a gateway between east and west. It is favoured by US officials because of its security, infrastructure and proven record of hosting international summits.

新加坡被視為一個(gè)安全的選擇。新加坡人口560萬，是金融中心，一直都是東西方交流的門戶。美國官員青睞新加坡是因?yàn)槠浒踩?、基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施以及此前主辦國際峰會的成功經(jīng)驗(yàn)。

It is a US ally but hosts a North Korean embassy and has a long history of cooperation with Pyongyang.
