中共中央總書(shū)記、國(guó)家主席、中央軍委主席習(xí)近平近日就旅游系統(tǒng)推進(jìn)“廁所革命”工作取得的成效作出重要指示。

China should continue to upgrade the country's toilets as part of its "toilet revolution" aimed at developing domestic tourism and improving people's quality of life, President Xi Jinping said.習(xí)近平指出，我國(guó)要繼續(xù)推進(jìn)“廁所革命”，發(fā)展國(guó)內(nèi)旅游業(yè)，提升群眾生活品質(zhì)。

習(xí)近平強(qiáng)調(diào)，兩年多來(lái)，旅游系統(tǒng)堅(jiān)持不懈推進(jìn)“廁所革命”，體現(xiàn)了真抓實(shí)干、努力解決實(shí)際問(wèn)題的工作態(tài)度和作風(fēng)（work style of endeavoring to do solid work and solve problems）。旅游業(yè)是新興產(chǎn)業(yè)，方興未艾，要像抓“廁所革命”一樣，不斷加強(qiáng)各類(lèi)軟硬件建設(shè)（construct better public facilities），推動(dòng)旅游業(yè)大發(fā)展（boost the tourism industry）。

習(xí)近平指出，廁所問(wèn)題不是小事情，是城鄉(xiāng)文明建設(shè)的重要方面（an important part of urban and rural civilization），不但景區(qū)、城市要抓，農(nóng)村也要抓，要把這項(xiàng)工作作為鄉(xiāng)村振興戰(zhàn)略（rural revitalization strategy）的一項(xiàng)具體工作來(lái)推進(jìn)，努力補(bǔ)齊這塊影響群眾生活品質(zhì)的短板。

“廁所革命”（toilet revolution）是國(guó)家旅游局自2015年起在全國(guó)范圍內(nèi)開(kāi)展的旅游廁所建設(shè)和管理行動(dòng)，旨在用三年時(shí)間解決旅游廁所的數(shù)量過(guò)少（insufficient number of tourist restrooms）、衛(wèi)生質(zhì)量低劣（unhygienic conditions）、以及管理缺位（lack of management）問(wèn)題。

行動(dòng)啟動(dòng)以來(lái)，“廁所革命”取得明顯成效。

By the end of October this year, China had installed or upgraded 68,000 toilets at tourist destinations, 19.3 percent more than the target number.
截至今年10月底，全國(guó)共新改建旅游廁所6.8萬(wàn)座，超過(guò)目標(biāo)任務(wù)的19.3%。

國(guó)家旅游局11月19日發(fā)布《全國(guó)旅游廁所建設(shè)管理新三年行動(dòng)計(jì)劃（2018-2020）》。按照計(jì)劃，從2018到2020年，全國(guó)將新建、改擴(kuò)建旅游廁所6.4萬(wàn)座（install or upgrade 64,000 toilets at tourist destinations），達(dá)到“數(shù)量充足、分布合理，管理有效、服務(wù)到位，環(huán)保衛(wèi)生、如廁文明”（to build a sufficient number of reasonably distributed, well-managed, and eco-friendly tourist toilets with considerate services and sound sanitation conditions where civilized behaviors are expected）的新三年目標(biāo)。
