北京時(shí)間5月16日晚間，羽毛球名將林丹在社交平臺(tái)發(fā)布向粵羽俱樂(lè)部的討薪聲明。林丹聲明希望俱樂(lè)部能尊重運(yùn)動(dòng)員的付出，立即支付拖欠運(yùn)動(dòng)員的全部薪金。他表示，如果未妥善解決，他和隊(duì)友將采取法律手段維護(hù)權(quán)益。

Chinese badminton superstar Lin Dan, a two-time Olympic champion, has accused his Super League club of failing to pay him and six others for the 2016-17 season.
中國(guó)羽毛球名將、兩屆奧運(yùn)會(huì)冠軍林丹指責(zé)他所在的俱樂(lè)部拖欠自己和其他六名隊(duì)員2016-2017賽季的薪金。

林丹在微博聲明中表示：

"Our understanding toward the club has been met with repeated delay."
我們運(yùn)動(dòng)員對(duì)俱樂(lè)部的體諒換來(lái)的竟是一再的拖延！

"We have communicated with the club many times about the salary payment; however, the club's attitude in solving this has made people feel helpless and disappointed."
我們多次與粵羽俱樂(lè)部溝通支付薪金事宜，而至今俱樂(lè)部的解決態(tài)度實(shí)在是讓人無(wú)奈及失望。

"We did not hold anything back when we were fighting for the club's honor. Please don't let our sweat go to waste."
為俱樂(lè)部爭(zhēng)得榮譽(yù)的時(shí)候我們無(wú)所保留，請(qǐng)不要讓我們的汗水白流！

“拖欠工資”除了上文中的fail to pay以外，還可以用withhold salary或者delay salary來(lái)表示。發(fā)工資的時(shí)候，有些單位還會(huì)出現(xiàn)無(wú)理克扣工資（unreasonable deductions from paychecks）的現(xiàn)象，更不用說(shuō)保證發(fā)放加班費(fèi)（overtime pay）了。

被拖欠方“討薪”可以用demand unpaid salary來(lái)表示，如果討薪成功，單位“補(bǔ)發(fā)工資”就可以用pay backdated salary表示。這里的backdated就是表示某個(gè)政策或舉措從之前較早的時(shí)間開(kāi)始計(jì)算。比如，6月份發(fā)出漲工資的決定，但是從1月開(kāi)始算的，所以會(huì)從1月開(kāi)始補(bǔ)發(fā)。這種情況就可以說(shuō)：The increase in pay agreed in June will be backdated to January.
