白天有全職工作并享受固定福利，在下班時間繼續(xù)做自由職業(yè)，你是“月光人”嗎？

Moonlighter is a person who holds a second job (usually after hours).
“月光人”指的是擁有第二職業(yè)的人（通常在下班后去做）。

According to the US Department of Labor, about 7 to 8 million of us — about 5+ percent of all workers — work multiple jobs (which is often referred to as moonlighting and dual or multiple jobholding).
根據(jù)美國勞工部的數(shù)據(jù)，大約700萬到800萬美國人（約占所有員工人數(shù)的5%）從事多種職業(yè)（通常被稱為從事第二職業(yè)，或者有兩份或三份工作）。

People have all sorts of reasons for taking a second job. Some do it as the beginning of a career-change move, gaining experience in a new career field before making the full switch. Others work multiple jobs to simply meet living expenses. Still others do it (usually on a temporary basis) to earn extra money. Finally, others do it because they simply enjoy the second job.
人們從事第二職業(yè)有各種各樣的原因，常見的有如下幾種：

1. 職業(yè)轉(zhuǎn)換的開始，徹底換工作之間，在新的職業(yè)領(lǐng)域積累經(jīng)驗；

2. 掙錢用于生活開銷；

3. 掙外快（通常是暫時的）；

4. 喜歡第二份工作。

英語里的moonlight原意為月光，引申為“從事第二職業(yè)”，比如“She has been moonlighting as an accountant at a restaurant in the evenings”意思是：她晚上在一家餐館做兼職會計。

既然是兼職，當(dāng)然白天得先做好本職工作，只能等月亮升上天后，才有空做第二職業(yè)，所以兼職者又稱“moonlighter”，也就是“月光人”。

2016年8月，美國的一項調(diào)查顯示，自由職業(yè)者的人數(shù)在過去10年呈現(xiàn)出了直線式的增長。其中有1430萬的自由職業(yè)者嚴(yán)格來說其實是“月光人”（moonlighter）。
