"Man date" refers to a platonic social encounter, not sexual implied or actual.

As The New York Times article defined:
《紐約時(shí)報(bào)》曾這樣定義“男男約會(huì)”：

A man date is two heterosexual men socializing without the crutch of business or sports.
“男男約會(huì)”是指兩個(gè)異性戀男子進(jìn)行與生意和體育無關(guān)的社交活動(dòng)。

Along with metrosexual and bromance, the term is part of a growing set of neologisms that address modern-day masculinity.
與“都市型男”和“兄弟之情”兩個(gè)詞一樣，“男男約會(huì)”是表述現(xiàn)代男性的越來越多的新詞之一。
