Swept off her feet
What happened when the old lady crossed the road? Well, we begin today's show with the answer to this mysterious question. A heroic young Chinese man in China's Fujian province had the Lei Feng spirit as he stepped out of his home looking to do some good for the society. An old Chinese woman was also setting out to fulfill her day, but all she had in mind was crossing a busy intersection. Traffic was not waiting for anyone. As cars zipped passed the grandma, she continued walking with her head down at dangerously slow pace. That's when the young heroic Chinese man came to the rescue. He swept granny off her feet, and guided her to safety. Call it romantic, call it brave, or simply call it Lei Feng. Bravo young Chinese man, bravo!
The law won
In 1958 a music song writer by the name of Sonny Curtis wrote a song titled "I fought the law" with a chorus chanting "I fought the law and the law won". In 1960 a band named "The Crickets" put it on their album. In 1965 it was rerecorded by Bobby Fuller in what would become one of the most famous songs in American history. Now, "I fought the law and the law won" is being used as a defense for this Chinese thief pretty much says "If he didn’t steal, the police wouldn't have any work to do". Yes this man fought the law by stealing, and the police won by catching him, and now he's bragging that he lost and the police won calling it a good thing for police and their jobs. Ok then…. The man, identified only by his surname, Quan, had some things to say after he was caught shoplifting, and I quote: "I just wanted to see what the police were doing and whether they can capture thieves," and the best one - quote: "If I don’t steal, they would lose their jobs." He allegedly stole a laptop from a computer shop in February when he and the owner were the only two people inside the premises. Here's some advice for you, don't fight the law, because the law will always win.
Lumber-car
Finally, we end today's show with a guy in America who had a little bit too much to drink. How do we know he had a little too much to drink? Well because he drove his car into a 15-foot tree that somehow got stuck in the front end…and kept driving! Umm sir, there's a tree on your car … "Yeah I know" …. I mean come on, what did the tree ever do to you to deserve this? The man was arrested by the officers who took this amazing footage and decided to use it to launch their new Facebook campaign. As the video went viral, so did their Facebook page. It's a win/win for the police. Way to go boys!
