到了年底,節(jié)日多、過生日的也多,大小聚會接連不斷,送出去的禮物自然也不會少。其實(shí),有時(shí)候想想這樣來回來去送東西也挺沒意思的,倒不如省去這些客套,大家多些真心相處更重要。所以,今天要說的這個(gè)degifting一定說出了很多人的心聲。
Degifting is a mutual agreement to suspend holiday gifts, usually within a single family or circle of friends.
Degifting指在家庭范圍或朋友圈內(nèi)約定過節(jié)期間不用互贈禮物,簡稱過節(jié)“免禮”。
Degifting can also refer to the act of replacing useless and pointless merchandise with something more meaningful, such as a charitable donation, service project or holiday party.
另外,degifting也指用更加有意義的行為取代過節(jié)時(shí)無用又無謂的商品互贈行為,比如捐贈善款、志愿服務(wù)或者辦個(gè)節(jié)日聚會等。
For example:
Due to the recession, we've decided that degifting is the best plan for Christmas this year. Instead, we're all getting together to serve food at the homeless shelter.
因?yàn)榻?jīng)濟(jì)不景氣,我們決定今年圣誕節(jié)最好的辦法就是互免禮物。到時(shí)候我們會一起到流浪人員救助站為他們送些吃的過去。
