The best way to test if a reform has achieved its aim is to check people's true feelings about the reform fruits. Xi said that "making people have a sense of gain" is a decisive rule to measure the gold content of any reform. 檢驗改革效果的最佳方式就是要看人民群眾對改革發(fā)展成果的切身感受。習主席表示，“讓人民群眾有獲得感”是檢驗任何改革含金量的重要標尺。

獲得感（sense of gain）其實就是努力使各項改革都能適應黨和國家事業(yè)發(fā)展要求，都能滿足人民群眾愿望和期待（all the reforms are in accordance with the requirements of the development of the Party and the nation, and they meet people's demands and expectations）；讓人民群眾感受到實實在在的改革成效（the public should have greater awareness of the fruits of reform）。

Sense通常指“感覺、意識”，比如，sense of humor（幽默感）、sense of smell（嗅覺）、the sixth sense（第六感）、sense of urgency（緊迫感）等。我們的五個感官（five senses）分別是：視覺（sight/vision）、聽覺（hearing）、味覺（taste）、嗅覺（smell）和觸覺（touch）。
