The trend of semicolon tattoos was started by Project Semicolon. It encourages people to draw (or tattoo) semicolons on their bodies as a way of presenting hope and love to those struggling with depression, anxiety, suicide, self-harm and other forms of mental illness.
分號紋身的潮流最初由“分號項目”發(fā)起，鼓勵人們在身上畫或是紋上“分號”，借此向那些正與抑郁、焦慮、自殺傾向、自殘等精神疾病抗爭的人們傳達希望和關(guān)愛的訊息。

Project Semicolon’s website explains the idea behind the tattoo: “A semicolon is used when an author could’ve chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. The author is you and the sentence is your life.”
“分號項目”的官方網(wǎng)站解釋了分號紋身背后的理念：“作家在可以結(jié)束語句的情況下，卻選擇不劃下句點，這時就需要用到分號?，F(xiàn)在，你是作家，語句則是你的生命。”

People who suffer from mental illness all over the world are now tattooing the mark as a reminder of their struggle, victory, and survival.
如今，世界各地患有精神疾病的人們將分號紋到身上，以此紀念自己的抗爭、勝利和幸存。
