言簡(jiǎn)意賅，不說(shuō)廢話(huà)，開(kāi)始整起：

1. Blood is thicker than water.

Family relationships are stronger than any others.

中文里的“血濃于水”，這算是完全直譯嘍。

2. Be able to do something in your sleep

To be able to do something very easily because you have done it many times before.

中文里可以對(duì)應(yīng)“我閉著眼睛也能…”。

例如：

I haven't done many portraits, but I could paint landscapes in my sleep.
我畫(huà)的肖像畫(huà)不多，但是我閉著眼也能畫(huà)風(fēng)景。

3. Have money to burn

To have so much money that you do not have to be careful with it.

我們說(shuō)“燒錢(qián)”，英文里也用了burn哦?！板X(qián)多到拿錢(qián)點(diǎn)煙”，這么記就記住了。還記得之前說(shuō)過(guò)的“花錢(qián)如流水”不？對(duì)了，就是spend money like water.

4. keep somebody at arm's length

To avoid having a close relationship with somebody.

中文里咱們有“保持一臂距離”對(duì)吧，這么記就特別好記。例如：

He keeps all his clients at arm's length.
他和所有的客戶(hù)都保持距離。

5. (in) black and white

a)In a way that makes people or things seem completely bad or good, or completely right or wrong.

我們?cè)谠u(píng)論是非對(duì)錯(cuò)的時(shí)候，可能會(huì)聽(tīng)到有人說(shuō)“不分黑白”。英文里也用黑和白來(lái)指絕對(duì)的好和壞，對(duì)和錯(cuò)。例如：

It's a complex issue, but he only sees it in black and white.
這是個(gè)很復(fù)雜的問(wèn)題，但是他只是非黑即白地來(lái)看它。

b)In writing or in print

中文里，尤其是在電視劇里，每次遇到“簽字畫(huà)押”情節(jié)，總能聽(tīng)到“白紙黑字”是不？英文里也有對(duì)應(yīng)的含義。例如：

I never thought they'd put it in black and white on the front page.
我沒(méi)想到他們會(huì)把這白紙黑字地印在頭版上。

6. Shut / close your eyes to something

To pretend that you have not noticed something so that you do not have to deal with it

中文里咱們說(shuō)“對(duì)……視而不見(jiàn)”，差不多就是這個(gè)意思。例如：

You can't just close your eyes to his violence.
你不能對(duì)他的暴力行為視而不見(jiàn)。

They seem intent on shutting their eyes to the problems of pollution.
他們似乎打算對(duì)污染問(wèn)題視而不見(jiàn)。

7. Shut/ slam the door in somebody's face

a)to shut a door hard when somebody is trying to come in

b)to refuse to talk to somebody or meet them, in a rude way

這個(gè)表達(dá)有兩個(gè)意思，除了字面意思外，另一個(gè)就跟我們的“拒之門(mén)外”很像了。

8. Two heads are better than one.

Used to say that two people can achieve more than one person working alone.

“三個(gè)臭皮匠賽過(guò)諸葛亮”，或者“人多力量大”，可以這么理解。

9. Rack your brain(s)

To think very hard or for a long time about something.

“絞盡腦汁”就翻譯成這個(gè)。例如：

She racked her brains, trying to remember exactly what she had said.
她絞盡腦汁想回憶起她到底說(shuō)了什么。

10. Take the weight off your feet

To sit down and rest, especially when you are tired

我們的“歇歇腳”，以后用英文就這么說(shuō)。

12. Be engraved on/ in your heart, memory, mind, etc.

To be something that you will never forget because it affected you so strongly.

深深地印在心里或者記憶力。例如：

The date of the accident remains engraved on my mind.
事情發(fā)生的那個(gè)日子已銘記在我心上。
