A bunker that survived the ravages of war did not escape being bulldozed by real estate developers. The demolished relic was a bomb shelter built during the period of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The military facility, which sits in Daxing district of Beijing, has been serving as a patriotic education base before it was torn down by a local real estate developer. The developer was fined 500,000 yuan for the destruction.
