貴州省委原常委、遵義市委原書記廖少華日前在西安受審。庭上的廖少華，其容貌被發(fā)現(xiàn)與之前的他判若兩人，如同“卸了妝”。

When Liao Shaohua, the former Party chief of Zunyi city, Guizhou province, appeared in court recently on charges of corruption and abusing power, the public was surprised by the huge change in his appearance. Instead of his previously well-dressed and healthy image, he looked haggard and dispirited. The photo of his appearance in court looked like a photo of him without makeup.
近日，貴州省遵義市委原書記廖少華因受賄、濫用職權(quán)出庭受審時，其容貌的巨大變化讓不少人吃驚。以前衣冠楚楚容光煥發(fā)的廖少華，現(xiàn)在卻看起來面容憔悴萬般落寞。庭審時他的樣子如同被“卸了妝”。

不僅廖少華展示了他的“卸妝照（photo without makeup）”，貪官們受審時的憔悴樣子已讓人屢見不鮮（not uncommon）了，無論這些人曾經(jīng)多么神氣活現(xiàn)不可一世（swaggering and arrogant）?；蛟S他們是真的對當初的所作所為感到后悔，但也許從某種程度上說，這也是他們裝可憐博同情（to win sympathy）的一種手段。

黨政干部應該以貪官“卸妝照”警示自己——權(quán)力（power）就像化妝師一樣能輕易改變他們（transform officials）。一方面，我們應該加強防腐（corruption prevention）和監(jiān)督機制（mechanism），另一方面，各級官員也應該從“老虎們”的卸妝照上吸取教訓（draw a lesson）：任何違反黨紀國法（Party's rules and the nation's law）的官員最終都將是這個落寞下場（end up in disgrace）。
