李克強(qiáng)總理在政府工作報告中指出：“周邊外交工作進(jìn)入新階段。經(jīng)濟(jì)外交取得新進(jìn)展。同發(fā)展中國家交流合作邁上新臺階，同主要大國關(guān)系在互動中穩(wěn)定發(fā)展，在重大國際和地區(qū)事務(wù)及熱點(diǎn)問題上發(fā)揮負(fù)責(zé)任大國作用。堅(jiān)定維護(hù)國家領(lǐng)土主權(quán)和海洋權(quán)益。我國的對外影響力進(jìn)一步提升。”

China entered a new phase in pursuing neighborhood diplomacy. Progress was made in economic diplomacy. China’s exchanges and cooperation with other developing countries reached a new level. China’s relations with other major countries steadily grew through interaction. China played the role of a large responsible country in important international and regional issues and hotspot issues. We resolutely safeguarded China’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and maritime rights and interests. China’s influence in the world further increased.

周邊外交（neighborhood diplomacy）指中國同周邊國家的外交關(guān)系。近年來，伴隨著國際格局的深刻調(diào)整，亞洲出現(xiàn)多種復(fù)雜因素，中國周邊環(huán)境發(fā)生了一系列變化，特別是周邊外交的戰(zhàn)略意義更加凸顯。

與鄰為善、以鄰為伴，堅(jiān)持睦鄰、安鄰、富鄰（building friendship and partnership with neighboring countries，pursuing the policy of bringing harmony, security and prosperity to neighbors），是中國周邊外交一向秉持的原則。
