人們常用“甜美”一詞形容笑容可人的女孩，或把性格隨和、溫柔體貼的人稱作“甜心”。美國一項研究顯示，對甜食的偏好的確與人的性格有關(guān)，因此把這種和偏好甜食相關(guān)的性格稱之為甜心性格，英文表達是dessert personality。

Dessert personality refers to the finding that people who like dessert are more likely to be kind and warmhearted. This word comes from an American research report, which revealed that people's dessert preferences have something to do with their dispositions. Girls with charming smiles or easygoing personalities are often described as "sweethearts."

“甜心性格”指的是喜歡吃甜食的人性格更和藹更親切。該詞源于一項美國研究報告，該研究顯示，人們對甜食的偏好與自身的性情有關(guān)。那些笑容溫暖、性格隨和的女孩通常被叫作“甜心”。

Although the study confirms the connection between dessert and personality, there is no evidence that can prove people who like food with bitter taste tend to have a bitter personality.

盡管研究證實甜食和性格之間有聯(lián)系，但沒有證據(jù)能證明喜歡苦味食物的人性格“苦澀”。
