I got up very early on August 8 for the opening ceremony. At 6 o'clock in the morning, I went to Beijing TV for the last leg of the torch relay with Yu Dan, a woman professor from Beijing Normal University whose Notes on The Analects of Confucius has sold millions of copies. Then I participated in an Olympic TV program in the noon. With the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympics approaching, I became very excited. I was an athlete and won two gold medals in the last three Olympic Games but it was the first time for me to watch the opening ceremony on the scene in Beijing! I am so happy to be a witness of this historic moment. At 8 pm the opening ceremony officially raised its curtain. At that very moment, I felt so proud of my country.
What impressed me most was the artistic performance. It fully demonstrated the concepts of "Green Olympics, People's Olympics and Hi-tech Olympics".
The cauldron-lighting pushed the ceremony to climax. The opening ceremony won praises from foreigners and it impressed the world with its magnificence and cultural richness.
The Olympic Games is a world event. People from different nations and cultures gather together for the event. This time, as an audience, I will cheer for all the athletes in Beijing Olympic Games.
Here I want to send my best wishes to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games: Good luck,China! Good luck, Beijing! I wish Beijing Olympics a good opportunity for foreign friends to better know China and Beijing.
