Cats and dogs in animal shelter, Germany

kilometres (37 miles) south of Frankfurt June 27, 2007. Every year when the
summer holidays start in Germany, more than 70,000 pets, mostly cats and dogs
are tied up by their owners next to highways or abandoned in cartons in front of
animal shelters throughout the country, Deutscher Tierschutzbund reported.
