Beijing to host World Olympic Collectors' Fair in June

具有濃縮奧林匹克歷史、彰顯體育特色、促進(jìn)東西方體育交流等獨(dú)到魅力的國(guó)際體壇文化盛會(huì)--世界奧林匹克收藏博覽會(huì),在連續(xù)舉辦了十二屆之后,今年六月將首次在中國(guó)開幕。屆時(shí),來(lái)自五大洲的奧林匹克收藏愛好者和體育集郵錢幣紀(jì)念品廠家、商家將攜帶見證百年奧運(yùn)發(fā)展歷史時(shí)期的各種紀(jì)念品云集盛會(huì)。

The 13th World Olympic Collectors' Fair will be held for the first time in Beijing, the host of the Olympic Games in 2008, according to a press conference on Tuesday.
The collectors all over the world are expected to take the opportunity to exchange, buy, sell or complete their collections of pins, mascots, torches, medals, stamps, posters, postcards or any other items carrying the Olympic rings.
Co-sponsoredby the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), the Chinese Olympic Committee and the State Post Bureau, the fair will run from June 22 to 28, 2007. Juan Antonio Samaranch, the IOC Honorary President and Chairman of the Olympic Philately, Numismatics and Memorabilia Commission will attend the fair's opening ceremony.
Preparations for the event are under way. An invitation letter autographed by Samaranch has been sent to collectors and related companies across the world. BOCOG has decided to include the publicity of the event into the fifth Beijing Olympic Cultural Festival.
In line withthe IOC suggestion, the Chinese Sport Stamps Collectors' Association will hold a stamps' exhibition to select the finest stamps for the fair. A large-scale exhibition entitled "The Olympics and China" will also be held during the fair to display ancient Chinese sports, sport-themed Chinese artworks and the items reflecting China's participation in the Olympic Movement.
