Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrival's gate at Heathrow airport.General opinion start to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed. But I don't see that, seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there, fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriend, girlfriend, old friends. When the plane hit the Twin Tower, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from people on board were messages of hate or revenge. They are all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling love actually is all around.

妙詞佳句，活學(xué)活用

1. Get gloomy with sth.

Gloomy 這個詞應(yīng)該算得上是個常用詞匯了，因為每當(dāng)心情不好的時候，我們就會用得到，比如：What's going on? You look gloomy today. 當(dāng)然我們也可以說 sth is gloomy，打個比方， Our future is gloomy. 指的就是“前途暗淡！”而短語 get gloomy with sth 指的是對某種東西感到焦慮，甚至有時是到了憂郁的地步。原文當(dāng)中的這句話 I get gloomy with the state of the world. 指的就是"對世界的現(xiàn)狀感到焦慮！"

2. It's not particularly dignified or newsworthy
