八達(dá)嶺長城的“洗臉”工程不久將啟動，據(jù)悉，每年八達(dá)嶺長城的中外游客達(dá)400多萬，“某某到此一游”的刻痕在萬里長城的磚石上隨處可見，看來，現(xiàn)代游客們比古代野蠻部落更具“侵略性”。

報道中的face lift指的是“翻新”，lift有一個義項是“整容（除去面部皺紋的手術(shù)）”，face
lift可以指整容，也能指建筑物外觀的改造和翻新，把長城上的那些刻痕給去掉，不就是給它“整容、翻新”嗎？看來，用face
lift來比喻“翻新”，真是很貼切。
